Readiness to Lead for Safety and Quality is an introduction to the important leadership practices required to be an effective safety and quality leader.

This guided self-reflection program helps answer the question, "Am I ready to lead for safety and quality?"

This program is divided into three modules:

  • Leadership Fundamentals
  • Developing Self as a Leader
  • The Role of the Team in Safety and Quality.

Who is the program for?

Anyone wishing to reflect on the important leadership practices required to influence and lead local safety and quality improvement.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this program you will be able to describe:

  • the important leadership attributes required of a contemporary leader in healthcare the relationship between leadership and local patient safety and quality improvement
  • safety and quality in healthcare and the role of Clinical Governance Units to drive the safety and quality agenda
  • the role of the team in safety and quality
  • how to build positive group dynamics within a team
  • A range of opportunities for ongoing development of your leadership capability.
