Maternal and Perinatal Forum
Improving safety: learning from mortality reviews.
The Clinical Excellence Commission Maternal and Perinatal Mortality Review Committee will host their inaugural annual forum to discuss and consider current issues, barriers and improvement opportunities in maternal, neonatal and newborn care provision.
Forum attendees can choose between virtual or face-to-face attendance at 1RR, St Leonards.
Topics will include:
- Themes arising from NSW 2019-20 maternal and perinatal mortality data
- Lessons learnt
- Overview of revised state policies relating to death review and reporting
- Safer Baby Bundle
- Stillbirth national action plan
- Human factors in the context of mortality investigation and review
Who should attend?
All health professionals involved in the provision of maternity, newborn and neonatal care who are interested in preventing maternal and perinatal deaths and improving the quality and safety of perinatal health care, including:
- obstetricians
- midwives
- neonatal nurses
- neonatologists

- health professionals working with women in their first trimester
