Join this experiential workshop designed to strengthen your skills in reflective practice. Learn a structured reflective process considered one of the most important skills a health professional can develop.

Access tools and tips sheets that guide the application of reflective skills in different contexts e.g., as an individual; with peers; or within your supervision.

Increase your knowledge and skills to deal constructively with the challenging aspects of your work and better appreciate the contribution you make.

Workshop overview

This workshop will:
  • deepen people's knowledge on what quality reflective practice looks like and why it is important for worker wellbeing
  • strengthen people's reflective practice skills
  • provide people an opportunity to practice applying reflective practice skills
  • share a range of tools and tips sheets to support ongoing application on the job.

  • Its role in wellbeing and trauma
  • Gibbs Reflective Cycle
  • Patient safety work.

2 - What good practice looks like

  • Core capabilities including building a reflective mindset
  • Creating the conditions for reflection to thrive
  • What it involves.

3 - Practice reflective skills

  • Using step by step guides apply the six stages of reflective practice as an individual, 1:1 and in small groups.

4 - Tips to strengthen practice

  • Establishing safety
  • Quality of listening
  • Impactful questions
  • Building shared understanding
  • Regulating emotion.
