Education
On this page you will find education resources for NSW Health staff to support engagement with the program and develop clinician sepsis awareness, knowledge, and skills. The resources can be incorporated into other education processes such as BTF Tier Two education (DETECT training). It is highly recommended that local sepsis case scenarios and data are used to promote clinician engagement with training.
Deteriorating patient education strategy
The Deteriorating Patient Education Strategy is integral to the NSW Health Policy Recognition and management of patients who are deteriorating (PD2020_018). It provides a framework and guidance for NSW health facilities on the skills, knowledge, education and training requirements for the detection, escalation, and response to the deteriorating patient. This includes education on sepsis recognition and management.
Within each LHD and SHN there are deteriorating patient leads that can assist with the co-ordination of deteriorating patient education. Contact your Clinical Governance team to find your local deteriorating patient lead contact details.
eLearning
The sepsis eLearning modules are available through My Health Learning and are designed to enhance clinician sepsis awareness, knowledge and skills. They are only available to NSW Health staff using a StaffLink login. The modules are:
