AMS Forum 2019
The CEC hosted the Third NSW Antimicrobial Stewardship Forum on Monday 24 June 2019. The event was attended by 112 health care professionals - pharmacists, doctors and nurses from public hospitals across NSW - including representatives from rural and regional areas. This year, members of the NSW Medical Leadership Group, were also in attendance.
Presentations delivered at the Forum covered a wide variety of topics, starting with antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) in the lab, to understanding how social influences impact on optimal antimicrobial prescribing. The forum also explored emerging areas of interest – antibiotic allergies and de-labelling strategies, AMS in the electronic era and AMS in surgery.
